Calibration and certificates
Every SiteHive Hexanode arrives calibrated, and SiteHive manages calibration for the life of your deployment. This page covers how that works, where to find your certificates, and the NATA option for projects that need laboratory-traceable calibration.
How calibration works
Hexanode devices are calibrated using a pressure calibrator for every deployment, and that calibration lasts two years.
Calibration values, date and time are recorded automatically on each device.
A calibration certificate is generated when the device arrives at your site, with all the key details.
Each device carries a calibration countdown. When a device approaches the end of its calibration, SiteHive sends a freshly calibrated replacement so you can swap it out before it lapses — you don't need to track this yourself.
Where to find your certificate
Go to the Dashboard / Manage Window, or Settings / Devices & Monitoring Points
Click Manage for the device
Select the device, then the Details tab
Calibration Date and Calibration Due are shown here
The Calibration Certificate can be viewed and downloaded at the bottom of the screen
Download all certificates at once
If your project needs the full set — for an audit, a monthly report or a compliance submission — go to Settings / Devices & Monitoring Points and click Download certificates.
Store your own documentation alongside it
You can save certificates for non-SiteHive devices used on your site, along with deployment photos and maintenance logs, and assign them to specific devices in the Manage Window / Details tab. It keeps the full record for a device in one place.
NATA calibration
For projects where data needs to be defensible in audits, regulatory reporting or environmental approvals, SiteHive offers NATA-calibrated devices.
NATA — the National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia — accredits laboratories that meet strict technical and quality standards. A NATA-calibrated device means calibration was performed by a NATA-accredited laboratory, results are traceable to national standards, and the calibration data is fully documented and verifiable.
The standards
NATA-calibrated Hexanode Noise devices are aligned with:
IEC 61672-3:2013 — Sound Level Meters (Part 3: Periodic tests)
IEC 61260-1:2019 — Electroacoustics, octave-band and fractional-octave-band filters (Part 1: Specifications)
The process
Laboratory testing — devices are verified by a NATA-accredited calibration facility
Standard alignment — performance is tested against IEC 61672-3 and IEC 61260-1
Certificate of Calibration — issued, linking your device to national standards
Field deployment — devices arrive ready for compliance-sensitive monitoring
What's available
NATA calibration is available for Next Generation Hexanode Noise and Noise+Dust devices, and Hexanode Vibration devices.
NATA-calibrated devices keep full support for Direction of Arrival mapping, triggered images and audio, AI-classified audio, and in-field calibration checks between NATA cycles.
Next-generation devices can also be used without NATA calibration — they come as standard with calibration conducted by SiteHive.

You can have your SiteHive devices calibrated by any NATA-accredited lab yourself, or SiteHive can provide NATA-calibrated devices and certification and manage the full process, so devices arrive calibrated with certificates.
